Are you a musician or know someone close to you that is and would love to add that special touch to your special day?

Wonderful!

How fortunate you are to either play an instrument, sing, or know someone who does and that would like to perform for your wedding or special event.  Music is one of the most impactful elements of any event and having it come from yourself or someone close makes your day even that much more meaningful.

We love little more than a hand-crafted song performed at a ceremony or a well-known number with the performer’s own flair at a party or reception.

But…how do you incorporate this specialty music into your Orlando wedding or special event?

Let us provide you some ideas!

Plan for a Warm Welcome!

When we plan any type of wedding or event, we take extra note of how the guests will be greeted as they arrive and how warm the welcome is to the event.  This sets the tone for the entire event so the more detailed and welcoming, the more comfortable and in awe we find the guests to be.

If you have a close friend or family member that is a musician, this is a wonderful opportunity to ask them to be a part of your event.

Ask them to perform a certain genre of music as your guests arrive.  We typically arrange for 10-15 minutes of songs right before the start of the ceremony or 10-15 minutes at the start time of the event.

Include Specialty Entertainment!

It’s always nice to provide guests a small break from all of the excitement if you have the opportunity for them to sit down and enjoy for a minute.  What better way to offer this than with a specialty music or entertainment from someone close?

This can be the perfect option during the time when:

– the bar has just opened at the cocktail reception and many people are waiting in line

– the doors open to the reception room, guests are finding their seats, and waiting for the bridal party introductions (this can also help in seating guests more promptly!)

– cake is being served

Think of those down time moments when guests may get a little bored and how you can incorporate a specialty musician during that time.

Provide a Memorable Farewell!

Just as we love a unique start to the event as guests arrive, we also are mindful of what type of good bye they and YOU receive as well!

We’ve all seen sparklers, bubbles, and ribbon wands that look adorable in pictures as you take your walk off to your honeymoon, but consider adding a special song from a close musician as well.  As your guests line up, the musician can begin the song (AGAIN, GREAT for getting guests to help in a prompt manner!) as your wedding planner cues the perfect timing for your walk to your getaway vehicle.

Now that’s a sweet kiss goodnight!

As much as the idea of having a specialty musician that you know perform, keep these tips in mind…

  • what type of instrument does he/she play?  Softer woodwinds, piano, guitar, violin, and harp are great options for a wedding, while stronger brass instruments can come across overbearing and too loud.
  • if YOU are the musician…consider how much extra stress that may provide you that day.  Do you get very nervous or are you typically calm?  Don’t overstress yourself!
  • make sure you listen to the song being played by the musician BEFORE your wedding day!  Too long of a song, something that sounds off-key, or not the right type of music for your special event should be mindfully addressed before the actual event day.
