Ok…who doesn’t LOVE a good brunch?  Yes, we live for this on the weekends!

And…who doesn’t LOVE a good wedding?  And yes, we live for these everyday!

So what’s one of our FAVORITE combinations?

You guessed it – A WEDDING BRUNCH!

There are no rules that say you must have an afternoon ceremony followed by an evening reception.  There are so many reasons that you may choose to look outside that typical box.

For example, if you or many of your guests don’t dance, you’re “must-have” date at your “must-book” venue isn’t available for the evening, you are looking to save money, or just simply you want something different…then a wedding brunch may just be the perfect option!

Why do we love wedding brunches so much?  Well…

They can be in beautiful locations.

It’s typical to see the usual reception in a hotel ballroom or indoor venue – and they are beautiful, don’t get us wrong.  But with a late morning wedding followed by a brunch, think:

– outdoor gardens

– an old home

– a barn

– a tented field

– a quaint patio

– a vineyard

– an orchard

– a boat

Day events have so many options for beautiful surroundings!  What may limit you in evening weddings opens up during the day and we find availability much greater!

They can be delicious!

Culinary teams are used to creating the traditional wedding menu for an evening reception.  But it’s fun when they get to push their boundaries for a different genre of food.

We love this picture of bagels with different toppings – even flowers!  Can you imagine the wow from your guests when presented with something like this?!

Also, think pancakes and waffles with beautiful fruit toppings and different flavored syrups.  Egg dishes with fresh herbs dotting the tops, and just-picked fruit and vegetables grilled with wildflowers honey and topped with sweet lavender.

How fun!

Keep in mind that part of the beauty and creativity of a brunch are the unique food vessels to serve your brunch in.  We love mason jars, antique bowls, and mix and match dishes.

They can be kinder to your budget.

This is a big one when it comes to things such as inviting all of the guests you want, selecting the must-have dress, or splurging on hand-made invitations.

A wedding brunch can save you money in ways such as:

– brunch menus can cost less than dinner menus.

– an open bar may be used as a hosted bar instead if guests may not drink as much during the day than at night

– offer a specialty cocktail or two instead of a full open bar – cute cocktails in a fun glass can make a big impact!

– dancing may not be needed, so instead you can forgo formal music and opt for lawn games and background music piped in

– no need for specialty lighting unless inside

– many times the location is so cute and quaint that additional floral and decor may not be needed

And these are only a few ways a wedding brunch can help the budget!
