Sometimes, it isn’t the bride who hires us, sometimes it’s the groom or mother-of-the-bride, but in Amanda’s case, it was her father, Don. They had lost her mother a few years ago, but losing a family member so important can still hurt, especially when planning a wedding. So many brides either bond and/or fight with their mother during their planning process. It can stir up a ton of emotion, but you are glad she’s there. Don knew his little girl was having a tough time going through all of this without her mom, so stepped up, hired us, and told us to make sure she has the wedding of her dreams.
Amanda was so sweet and conscious of the fact her father had always been a frugal man, but her creativity and vendor choice allowed her to maximize her budget while still creating a beautiful event full of color and detail. The Country Club of Orlando was the perfect setting for her Victorian Field Journal inspired wedding. The Lee Forrest Design team brought together a collection of beautiful, vibrant orange, fuchsia, pink, purple, and yellow flowers with natural vines and mixed in actual Blue Morpho butterflies that the bride had saved in a case along with hidden glass bumblebees and ladybugs.
Amanda had asked Denise from Dogwood Blossom Stationery to find inspiration from the art of Victorian nature books and the artwork of Michal Negrin to create all the custom paper goods.
But the bride took on many projects of her own that made the event so special and personalized. Most impressive was the massive mirror seating chart that she had handwritten all the guests’ names on.
Amanda wasn’t the only missing a parent that day, her groom, Joe, has had both of his parents pass. They were honored on a memorial table that was at the church and the reception and in a special prayer during the ceremony. There was so much love and joy that day that you knew that they were there.
We are so happy to have gotten to know Don, Amanda, and Joe and to have helped them create a beautiful, important event in their lives.

My life as an Orlando and Central Florida wedding planner has taught me many things: I know hurricane clauses in contracts like the back of my hand. One sip can tell me if a certain wine is too bold or just right for a large guest list. And… I’ve seen how self-care is of utmost […]

They’re attached to their phone – and in particular, social media. It’s no wonder in this new era of the internet at our fingertips. They can see who is doing what, where, and with whom. And it all looks…perfect. So it’s not a surprise that if they have a birthday coming up, they secretly (or […]
Planning a wedding or event is exciting – there’s picking out flowers, tasting cakes, trying on dresses and tuxes, selecting rings, planning a honeymoon… but when it comes to the nitty gritty of contracts with venues and vendors, all of that fun can come to a screeching halt – especially when there is a large […]
