Ah, one of my favorites indeed. Curt and Stephanie from nu visions in photography. You knew N would be nu visions. Love them as people and their talent is just amazing. They are two of the most talented photographers and coolest characters that I know. They recently won at the Florida Professional Photographers Annual Convention. This is the 3rd year in a row that they’ve won. So, what better time to share their talent with you.
And now a little bit about what makes Curt and Stephanie at nu visions tick. See below for my interview with Stephanie and Curt.
Where are you located?
Our Studio is located at 27 East Pine Street – Downtown Orlando We also open our Studio on Friday and Saturday evenings as a wine bar!
Do you travel?
Yes…we love to travel wherever our weddings take us!
Where have you traveled for weddings?
Last year we shot a wedding in a small village in Italy on the Adriatic Sea….We have also shot weddings in Cabo San Lucas, California, Colorado and New York, with upcoming weddings in the Bahamas, North Carolina, Indiana and possibly India!!
How did you get started?
Curt began his photography career in 1995 as a travel photographer, which in turn, evolved to people photography, fashion and weddings. I came on board with nu visions nearly 5 years ago to handle the business/marketing side of things. Once Curt taught me the technical side of photography – I was off and running and we have been shooting weddings together as a team for the past 3 years!
Where do you get your inspiration?
Our inspiration comes from everywhere!! Other photographers, fashion magazines, artists, – you name it! Curt’s favorite lighting in the studio is Rembrandt Lighting (think of the famous painter) – it’s amazing if you look at paintings from generations ago – the way the artists captured the light using only a paint brush and a canvas – very inspiring!
What’s your favorite part of the wedding day?
I know I can speak for both of us when I say that we love the moment the bride walks down the aisle. Curt and I both love the expressions and emotions from both the bride and groom at that very moment. There is nothing better than watching the groom’s face as he sees his future wife walking towards him!! Along with that, our favorite time to photograph is directly after the ceremony when the bride and groom are together for the first time. The hugs, kisses, emotions…they are all so real!
What’s your favorite movie?
Curt’s favorite movie is Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and mine is a toss up – I love Notting Hill, The Devil Wears Prada and Serendipity
If you could give brides one piece of advice, what would it be?
When it comes to photography – just be yourself. Try not to be “camera aware” on your wedding day. We are constantly on the look out for connections between you and your family, friends and new husband. The less aware you are of us, the more “real” your photographs will feel when you look at them long after your wedding day is over.
And now, the award winning photos,
Curt’s is called Words of Wisdom – he got 1st place in Wedding Photojournalism, Best in Show for Weddings and the Kodak Gallery Award with this print.
Stephanie’s photos are The Proud Father – 3rd place in Wedding Photojournalism and The Gondolier – 1st place in Environmental Portraits.
And some additional photos from the talented photographers, Curt & Stephanie.
My dog, Chloe, is everything to me. She lights up my day with her snuggles and kisses, makes me laugh with her playfulness and joy, and is always there to comfort me with her love. She brings me so much happiness that having her as a part of special moments in my life is meaningful. […]

Who’s a must have? Who’s a maybe? Who’s a “let’s not?” The joys of managing a guest list. It can be a beautiful journey choosing how to celebrate your special day with loved ones but choosing who those loved ones will be can be downright stressful! We believe that a guest list is much more than […]
My life as an Orlando and Central Florida wedding planner has taught me many things: I know hurricane clauses in contracts like the back of my hand. One sip can tell me if a certain wine is too bold or just right for a large guest list. And… I’ve seen how self-care is of utmost […]
